Step 1) Design Consultation
During the initial consultation, the client and designer will explore the project’s ambitions and goals together. We will discuss your preferences and dislikes while uncovering exciting and unique creative possibilities. This dialogue will help us formulate a design and site-specific brief tailored to your needs.
A comprehensive assessment of the garden will enable our landscape designers to create a design brief that perfectly suits both the client and the site. Accurate site data collection is essential for a smooth construction phase, saving both time and money. We will record important site information such as levels, boundary measurements, existing drainage, views, aspect, and significant features that will impact the design. This information will inform the fee proposal, giving you a clear understanding of the finished product and the process to achieve it.
Step 2) Garden Design
The design process is a complex interplay of intellect, intuition, reason, passion, experience, creativity, and play. Our design solutions are always tailored to unique requirements and are never the same. With a deep understanding of the client’s needs, our designers, supported by our in-house horticulturists and landscapers, create fully integrated design solutions that exceed the brief to deliver shared aspirations.
We begin with experimental sketches and concepts, gradually refining them into a cohesive vision: the garden master plan. This master plan is presented with accompanying mood boards, materials, and samples. Upon reviewing the plans with the client, we can make any necessary alterations or additions. Once the client is satisfied with the master plan, we move on to the detailing phase, creating detailed planting plans.
Planting plans are crucial to any garden design, whether part of a larger project or standalone. Our designers carefully assess the aspect and soil conditions across the site to ensure plants are not only visually stunning but also thrive in their specific environments.
Lighting plans are another key feature, bringing the garden to life during darker hours. The goal is to subtly illuminate the garden, highlighting certain features and creating a new atmosphere distinct from daylight hours.
In addition to the garden master plan, we provide technical construction details for complex or bespoke elements included in the design. These details support the build process, ensuring that technical elements are constructed accurately, according to plan, and to the high specifications desired.
Step 3) Project Management
Love Landscaping offers a unique and advantageous in-house approach, bringing together award-winning garden designers, professionally certified craftsmen, and seasoned horticulturists. Our experienced project management team liaises with clients throughout the design and construction process, maintaining direct oversight, communication, and control over all involved services. Because all our services are in-house, the project manager acts on behalf of the client, providing a seamless connection to the project’s progress.
This integrated approach allows our designers to work closely and daily with the teams dedicated to implementing the clients’ designs. Collaborating with the project manager, construction, and horticultural teams during the design process fosters unrivaled creativity, ensuring that the final designs are executed flawlessly without compromising on budget or implementation quality.
