Overview
We were appointed by the main contractor to deliver the full landscaping package for this high-end private residence in Lymington, New Forest. The project formed part of a wider property transformation involving extensive internal, external, and outdoor improvement works designed to elevate the appearance and functionality of the home. The landscaping works focused on restoring and enhancing the grounds following the installation of a new swimming pool, while also overcoming the challenges presented by difficult ground conditions and a natural underground spring running through the site. The completed landscape now provides a clean, contemporary outdoor environment that complements the modern architecture of the property while remaining practical, private, and easy to maintain.

The Challenge
The site presented several technical challenges throughout the landscaping works. Following the installation of a new swimming pool, much of the existing lawn and surrounding garden areas had been heavily disrupted, leaving the grounds uneven and difficult to reinstate. The property was also situated above a natural spring, resulting in persistently wet ground conditions across parts of the site. Careful grading and preparation works were required throughout the project to manage excess water and create suitable conditions for the new landscaping elements. Alongside these practical challenges, the finished landscape needed to complement the luxury setting of the property while introducing privacy, structure, and long-term usability throughout the outdoor space.
The Process
Delivering a Complete Landscape Transformation
Working closely with the main contractor, the landscaping package was delivered in carefully planned stages to restore and enhance the grounds while coordinating alongside the wider construction works taking place across the property.
Ground Preparation & Lawn Installation
Extensive ground preparation and grading works were carried out across the site to create smooth, level lawn areas and improve surface drainage around the property. Once the site had been prepared, over 1,200m² of high-quality turf was installed to completely transform the appearance of the grounds and create a lush, established finish throughout the garden.
Planting & Soft Landscaping
A variety of soft landscaping elements were introduced across the site to soften the modern architecture and create a more natural connection with the surrounding New Forest landscape. This included structured planting around the swimming pool area, decorative potted planting features, new hedging for privacy and enclosure, and the installation of bespoke vegetable planting beds. Integrated irrigation systems were also installed throughout the soft landscaped areas to support healthy long-term plant establishment and simplify ongoing maintenance.
Driveway & Privacy Screening
A new gravel driveway was installed to provide a durable and visually striking entrance to the property. The natural gravel finish complements both the architecture and rural surroundings while maintaining a clean contemporary appearance. Hazel hurdle fencing was also installed throughout selected areas of the garden to create natural privacy screening and help define individual outdoor spaces without compromising the character of the landscape.
Final Detailing & Property Handover
Prior to client handover, we carried out ongoing maintenance works across the grounds to ensure the property was presented to the highest possible standard. This included lawn mowing, strimming, pressure washing of the patios, and general landscape maintenance throughout the site. Additional finishing touches included the installation of a stepping stone pathway leading to the newly installed sauna room, helping to connect the various outdoor features across the property.
The Results
The completed landscaping works transformed the grounds of the property into a polished and cohesive outdoor environment that complements the luxury residence perfectly. The combination of expansive lawns, structured planting, natural screening, and high-quality finishing details creates a landscape that feels both contemporary and connected to its New Forest surroundings. Despite the challenging site conditions and extensive construction activity throughout the project, the finished result delivers a practical, visually refined, and highly functional outdoor space designed for long-term enjoyment.
