Ongoing maintenance or one-off support

Garden maintenance usually works best as an ongoing service. It means the garden is looked after properly across the year, rather than only being revisited once work has started to build up.

For many clients, that means regular visits planned around the season, the planting and the level of upkeep the garden needs. One-off maintenance can still be offered where needed, but ongoing care is often the better fit for gardens that need more consistent attention.

Over time, this helps keep the garden in better condition, makes the work easier to manage, and means the space is more often ready to use and enjoy.

What the service includes

Every garden needs a different level of care, depending on its size, planting, features and how it is used. Our maintenance service is tailored around that, with ongoing work planned to keep the garden healthy, well-kept and ready to enjoy across the year.

Maintenance Services

Lawns and green areas

This can include mowing, feeding, scarifying, seeding, turf care and the wider upkeep needed to keep lawned areas healthy, well maintained and looking their best through the year.

Hedges, shrubs and structural planting

Regular pruning, cutting and shaping help keep hedges, shrubs and structural planting neat, balanced and in keeping with the rest of the garden.

Borders, beds and seasonal upkeep

Borders and planted areas often need more regular attention to keep them looking their best. This may include weeding, mulching, feeding, planting, dividing and the seasonal work needed to support healthy growth and maintain the standard of the garden overall.

Water features and specialist care

Where needed, maintenance can also cover ponds, water features and more specialist pruning, including topiary, fruit trees and espaliers that need a more careful approach.

Specialist pruning and seasonal upkeep

Some gardens also need more careful attention at certain times of year. This can include specialist pruning for vines, espaliers, fruit trees and topiary, along with seasonal leaf clearance to keep the garden looking well-kept and prevent leaves building up across lawns, borders and hard surfaces.

Why ongoing maintenance matters

Consistent maintenance helps protect the standard of a garden over time. It preserves the time, cost and care already invested in the space, while keeping it ready to use throughout the year.

For larger or more established gardens, regular upkeep makes it easier to keep the garden at the right standard without having to manage every detail yourself. Planting, lawns and key features are looked after more consistently, without the garden only being revisited when attention is needed.

That makes the garden easier to manage overall and easier to enjoy as part of day-to-day life. Instead of reacting to what needs doing, the work keeps moving in the background so the space stays at the right standard.

How garden maintenance works
Initial conversation
The process starts with an initial call or email to understand the garden and the level of maintenance needed.
Site visit
A site visit is an important part of the process, as it gives us the chance to look at the space properly, talk through priorities with you, and assess practical details such as access, levels, drainage, planting and the overall standard of upkeep required.
Quote and approval
Following the visit, we provide a written quote with a clear scope of work, along with any relevant assumptions or exclusions. Once the quote is approved and the deposit is in place, the work can be scheduled.
Ongoing care or ad-hoc
From there, maintenance can either be arranged on an ongoing basis or carried out as a one-off service where needed. The right approach depends on the garden, the level of care required and how you want the space to be looked after over time.

Why clients choose Love Landscaping for garden maintenance

Keeping a garden at the right standard takes ongoing attention and a clear understanding of how it should be cared for through the year. For larger or more established gardens, that is usually best handled as a joined-up service rather than a series of separate jobs.

That is how we work. Maintenance is planned with a clear view of the garden, the planting and the standard it needs to hold, rather than simply responding as tasks arise.

The result is more consistency, clearer communication and less day-to-day involvement for you. The garden gets attention at the right time, without everything depending on when the next issue appears.

Recommendations are tailored to your garden, with the level of care shaped around its size, planting and built features. Whether you need ongoing maintenance or occasional support, we would be happy to discuss the right approach.
